snake oil and other questionable elixirs

This collection of ponderous drivel is the so called "wit and wisdom" of Eric B., Lam Yam-Ying and perhaps occasionally one of our friends or some stranger that we hijacked off of the street.

Bodies At Rest

I'm alone hanging out the window with the snow falling from above the buildings. Russian beer, Polish vodka and Indonesian cigarettes by the window, I'm on my world tour you see. The skin on my hands is not tight like it used to be and they are numb from the cold.

I am not anxious like this but peaceful, I feel strangely optimistic even though I find myself reflecting on wasted time. It's a beautiful world when everyone else is asleep and I don't have to play my role. Is it common to not really know who you are when you're not in character? I'm happy right now and need more ice.

For A Moment

Floating above row after row of genetically inferior, but identical homes, somewhere between dusk and twilight, wanting somehow to be welcome in the comfort yet not allowed through my own omission.

Knowing that each domicile and every empty space holds one word of the answer to all our questions. Not understanding the sequence that puts it all in place. The wisdom is there waiting for collation and waiting for assembly with the only instructions written in invisible ink and in an unknown verbiage, written out of view on our own foreheads.

Unable to express the feeling, glowing warm and alive, knowing everything and nothing at once, understanding that it’s okay when the heart overflows with love for those you know and will never know and trying hard to get a handle on knowing all for a brief moment.

Being everywhere for a glorious moment while your body sits alone. It is bliss to be with humanity and the rest of the world in the microsecond where you merge with Buddha, suffer with Jesus, hold the hand of Muhammad and walk with Moses and comprehend for a brief moment that it will all be okay again, if only for a breath or a heartbeat.
